Mom-Mom

By Lucille M. Griswold

Grandmoms are the greatest
Indeed this must be said
We love it when they kiss us
As they tuck us into bed

Some have hair of blonde, or red
Brunette and even gray
But the color doesn’t matter
They are pretty either way

Some are fat and some are thin
And some are short or tall
But the Grandmom that belongs to us
Is the best Grandmom of all

We call them Oma, Nana, Granny
Or maybe Mom-Mom is their name
There’s one thing though they all have
That makes them quite the same

It’s a very loving nature
To kiss our “boo-boos” when we’re hurt
And they don’t get all upset
When we want to play in dirt

Some stay at home and cook and sew
Or they may work outside the house
And some can even operate
That old computer mouse

They have so many talents
And do so many different things
No wonder Pop-Pops love them
Our angels without wings
