It’s been fifteen years since Grandmother’s Jewel’s was published (2004) and before I decided to write the Memoir: Life Lived in Reverse. That Memoir was published in 2009, so it has been ten years for that novel too. Where did the time go? Who knew that the Memoir would be critically acclaimed? I can give Professor Stanton some of the thanks for that as she encouraged me to examine my heritage while telling my experiences in life. I learned a lot by taking her advice.

I never got an agent. That would be my advice if you care to possibly live off of your writing and perhaps achieve a modicum of fame. Writing is more of a hobby for me, though in the long run getting an agent is probably something I should have done. I was influenced by my age at the time and the early death of my mother.

One of my own favorite novels is My Story: Only God Will be my Judge. It is not a story about me, and it is not even about my sex. The tragedy of September 11, 2001 had a profound feeling on most of us. The coincidence of what happened that day and what happened to the key male character on the same day follows a path of intrigue and adventure. People constantly argue as to if they like what the main character did, or if they consider him a bad person. Only you can decide.

As a family, we have had our share of ups and downs. Our positive attitude always won out in the end. Enjoy life while you have it. As long as you have a good book to read, you will never be bored.
