Pop-Pop

By Lucille M. Griswold

Pop-Pops are very special, the story must be told
They can be big and burly and sometimes even bold

When they give advice on money their disposition may seem stern
But we all know inside our hearts they just want us to learn

It’s fun when they can lift our bodies way up in the air
Or give us great big hugs like a gentle teddy bear

They even can be silly, though they are very smart
Or they act like little boys and say that word that rhymes with “tart”

Mom-Mom – she tsks, tsks these acts as she gently reprimands
But we just laugh and giggle, run around and clap our hands

Grandmoms make us feel so good and they always smell so sweet
But it takes a jolly grandpop to make our lives complete
