The Touch Tone Phone

I’m talking on the telephone
To someone who is not real
“It” asks me questions I don’t know
They don’t care how I feel

The voice says punch some
Numbers either one, or two or three
I scream into the phone that
None of those apply to me

“It” says they’re very sorry
My message was not clear
Please punch or try again
This I do not want to hear

Now I’m really angry
So I just keep punching O
This is not customer relations
Now I’m just their foe

After wasting many minutes
I get a real bona fide voice
Can’t they ever understand
That this was my first choice?
